Met someone wearing this?
They're a Mentor: someone who does this kind of work, there to help a team over a wall when it gets stuck.
- A volunteer. Giving one workshop, or a whole Build Cycle.
- Not teaching. The person in the room who's done it before.
- A role, not a certification. The button says who to ask when a team is stuck.
You'd meet one at a workshop at the public library, beside a team that's stuck, or at the Showcase. Ask them what they do.
Free. A single workshop, or a whole cycle. You choose.
Start by helping at a workshop.
Draft. A draft for review. The roles and their details aren't final until the board approves them.
What they do
Drop in. Unblock. Cheer.
01First
Drop in.
They sit with a Pod when it's stuck, and ask what it's tried.
02Then
Unblock.
They share what they know from doing the work: a shortcut, a pattern, a person to ask.
03One day
Watch them ship.
They're there at the Showcase when the Pod shows what it built.
Could this be you?
Simple, on purpose.
You choose the time.
A single workshop, or a whole cycle.
Nothing to prepare.
You're there when a Pod gets stuck, not at the front of a room.
Side by side.
Beginners and experts, working on the same real problem.
Free, always.
Nothing to pay, and nothing to sell.
How it works
Bring what you know. Leave with a Pod that shipped.

Questions
Questions you might have.
Do I have to teach?
No. Mentors are around when a Pod gets stuck. There's nothing to prepare.
How much time does it take?
A single workshop, or a whole cycle. You choose.
Who can mentor?
People who do the work, in any field. There are no formal requirements: what you bring is judged by how it works in practice.
Is The Labs a bootcamp?
Not really. There's no curriculum to get through. Teams work on a real problem and learn what they need along the way.
Why start with an account?
Everything at The Labs runs through one free Upskilling account: workshops, Build Cycles and every role. Create it once by signing in with Google, and add paths whenever you like.
